Now that Ive gone off on one long drunken ramble that has nothing to do with the topic Ill make myself shut up because this is something I can spend hours talking about. Its gotten bad enough that non competitive gamers cringe at the thought of them. Sadly most competitive gamers these days have become jerks and spend there time putting down other people for not being "on there level". If I see someone who can do it better I try to learn from them to better myself.

In everything I do I strive to do the best of my ability(cept house cleaning and yard work). This mindset doesnt just apply to gaming in my life it applies to most everything I do.

Now that I dont have the free time to stay in competitive gaming I still have trouble breaking that mindset. I had always judged how good I was by those better then me and my competitive nature pushed me to try to be better as a result.

Outside of a few arpg/rpg games here and there thats pretty much the full extent of my gaming history. I spent several years playing Day of Defeat: Source in the ESL and Sunlit League. In DotA I spent all my free time competing with people on Garena and clan wars. In Warcraft 3 there was the Azeroth ladder and clan wars. In Diablo 2 there was the hardcore ladder. In Diablo 1 the clan I was in had ongoing pvp and pve competitions. Honestly I view all games in a competitive way but thats mostly due to my gaming history. I lol'd at that because of the sarcasm and the truth behind it for me. Oh and in case anyone freaks out about parts of my post: :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: When you create a game have a title saying "Playing Legit - No cheats/mods" and there we go.Īnytime bring up the whole "cheats/mods" makes me quite amused because you will meet cheaters in online only games as well and you have the choice to play with cheats or with cheaters. If you are playing with someone who cheats then leave the game or ban them from your server.

You have a choice to cheat or not to cheat, plus you can play with people who have the same choice. Does this mean you need to take part in this squalor? Of course not.

In all seriousness: People can mod or cheat in Grim Dawn so that they can be invincible and change Soiled Trousers to throw 100x as much Feces as before in order to coat the entire screen with sludgy grey fecal matter. I'm feeling sooooooooooooo competitive because omg!!! Look at this craaaazy ladder that is totally existent right? I mean really? I'm so upset that so and so revived their character even though that person isn't even playing in my game :furious: we all know that evil medierra is out to get us by stopping any modding or cheating and having an always online aspect in Grim Dawn which will obviously enhance this game by pie squared yes? Woah, seems like people think that Grim Dawn isn't a game for enjoyment but it's a game for competition like on those hidden online servers that Crate has stashed away right?īecause. The point of arpgs might be building a powerhouse, but skipping a path every now and then isnt going to make the game super dull for you. What if we like challenge, dont come to forums to brag, and just died once on a stupid accident?

If you can just make yourself powerful and give yourself all the best gear I see no point in even playing. For me the pleasure of arpgs is the process of building a powerhouse and finding items. I honestly just dont get the point of it. Im not for cheating and Im only against it if its directly effecting other players game play.

Im not trying to tell anyone how to play the game either though mind you.

Just stick to normal if thats the intention. So where is the challenge if you can undo your "permadeath"? Noone wants to hear someone who cheated brag on there char either. There are two reasons to play hardcore characters one being the challenge and two being bragging rights. There is no point in playing hardcore then. Open xvi32>drop player.gdc>ctrl+f>numberofd>select 1 and change it to 0 The method I have done is your save, the last items you picked up your exp etc, just alive. search for a file called player.gdc and.
